Yes, that is the current behaviour: liquidsoap caches some songs to make sure
it alw ays have something available to stream in the future..

There is no real solution for now. you can play with the parameters in order
to reduce the cache length.
There is a ticket dedicated to this:
David agreed recently that we whould review this. However, it is not an easy
change, so it might take some time to do it properly.
In the mean time, you can give a try to the patch attached to the above
ticket. It should work, though it has not been tested intensively..

I don't have much time, so I'll only agree with what Romain said. For
now, you should be able to find a decent solution (like most of us) by
playing with the parameters "length" and "default_duration": with
default_duration>length, you'll get only one file prepared in advance.
If you really need something else, you can try to push requests to a
queue (but this causes its own difficulties).
I encourage you and other readers of this list to search for the
previous mail(s) where we gave more details about that. We should
start a list of such mails that are almost documentation.
