SaVi 1.2.3 released

SaVi 1.2.3 adds support for compiling under gcc 3.3.1 (addressing gcc's complaint about building version.c). It's also the fastest release of SaVi ever, with significant speedups when running under Geomview. Better support for building under Cygwin is included.

SaVi development with gcc 3.3.1 and Cygwin

Latest SaVi development gets SaVi building cleanly with gcc 3.3.1, and improves building under Cygwin 1.5.5-1 with Tcl/Tk 8.4. Check out the latest from cvs, or help yourself to the 17 January snapshot from:

SaVi 1.2.2a released

SaVi 1.2.2a is a minor revision to the 1.2.2 package, replacing one Tcl statement that prevented running on pre-Tcl 8.4 systems, and removing unnecessary CVS subdirectories.

Like 1.2.2, 1.2.2a features dynamic texturemapping, improved projections and coverage maps, and a host of other improvements to 1.2.1a.

SaVi 1.2.2 released

http://savi.sourceforge.net/

SaVi allows you to simulate satellite orbits and coverage in two and three dimensions. The 1.2.2 release adds realtime 3D texturemapping, new coverage projections, compatibility with Tcl/Tk 8.4 and Cygwin, better file handling, a Sirius Radio simulation, and a host of other improvements.

SaVi development with Tcl/Tk 8.4.0

The SaVi development tree has been updated so that SaVi supports Tcl/Tk 8.4.0, which was released in September 2002.

A simulation of the Sirius Radio elliptical constellation has also been added.

Work is underway on porting SaVi to cygwin, and we would appreciate advice from anyone familiar with use of Tcl/Tk under cygwin.

We're hoping to release SaVi 1.2.2 in the near future.

SaVi 1.2.1a released

http://savi.sourceforge.net/

SaVi lets you visualise, modify and run satellite orbits and coverage in two and three dimensions.

SaVi 1.2.1a improves the packaging of the 1.2.1 release - tightens file permissions, turns off building with debug enabled.

Otherwise, it's identical to the SaVi 1.2.1 release, which featured usability improvements and the ability to have
the coverage map widened to fill your screen.

SaVi 1.2.1 released

http://savi.sourceforge.net/

SaVi is Satellite Visualization software, originally created at the Geometry Center. SaVi lets you create, modify and run satellite orbits in two and three dimensions, and examine satellite coverage.

View and manipulate constellations of satellites orbiting the Earth! Simulations of Iridium, Teledesic, Globalstar, GPS and others are included.

SaVi 1.2.1 includes bugfixes and usabilty enhancements - the coverage map can now be stretched to fill your monitor.... read more

SaVi 1.2 released

http://savi.sourceforge.net/

SaVi is the Satellite Visualization software originally from the Geometry Center. SaVi 1.2, a long-awaited update, has finally been released. View and manipulate constellations of satellites orbiting the Earth!

SaVi works well with the 3D renderer Geomview, also a SourceForge project. SaVi requires Tcl and Tk on a unix system; Geomview is optional, though recommended.

Download the SaVi 1.2 and Geomview 1.8.1 releases! (Developers: start with the SaVi 1.2 release for the oogl/Earth.ppm.Z compressed file that is not included in savi-dev/ checkouts.)
