#50 Savant default page and LAN's

I am running Savant 3.1 on a Win98SE machine. I have
that server and 2 other machines on a LAN (Router, not
a hub) in my home. Allowing Savant to auto-detect the
DNS server, I can merely type the IP address of the
server machine and get the "/index.html" page. If I try
to access that from outside my LAN, then I MUST put
the "/index.html" onto the HTTP:// line. If I plug my ISP
provided IP address in instead of allowing Savant to auto-
detect, then I can forego using the "/index.html" from
outside my LAN, but CANNOT access the page at all
from within my LAN.

Is there something I'm missing, or is it something I'll just
have to live with?

If you specify the ISP provided address within Savant then
yes, you can forgoe using the index.html in the url when
accessing OUTSIDE your lan network, but you MUST append
[slash] index.html INSIDE the lan network. This is to do with
the way that Savant resolves host names.
