Savant is a great program. Thanks for making it, and for
making it free!!
I may have found a bug of some sort, or it could be that
my setup is weird somehow.
when i access myself with just "http://domain/", i don't
automatically get my index.html.
rather, my browser (ie) gives me an error, and savant
says that the transfer is still in progress (301) and
savant completely locks up and must be shut down.
(and when i shut it down, the system tray icon remains,
but i guess there's nothing you can do about that in a
crash.) i can access it just fine if i specifically
type "http://domain/index.html". Everything else I've
tried works great. Am I going crazy? Is something
wrong here? Besides me?
Thanks,
Jesse

I have seen this, I run Savant on XP Home and have seen it
on W98SE also, but it's not always there. When it works it
works great, when it doesn't I can't figure out why. What's
interesting is, Savant finds the index.htm file and gags with
301 response when trying to serve it up, because if the
filename is changed it properly returns 401 not found. I have
messed with permissions and sharing but haven't found the
magic keys yet. Currently I have the problem and have to
use domain redirection to send root requests explicitly to
index.htm -Grant
