Hello saskatoon-announce subscribers, This list and its associated project are about to go away (you probably had forgotten all about it!) History, if you care: http://www.oreillynet.com/mac/blog/2005/07/the_long_road_to_saskatoon.html Just wanted to thank you for your interest. I've moved on to other things (mostly Python web programming), but I think back fondly on this project and its supporters. As of last year, Smultron (the editor Saskatoon was forked from) is no longer under active development either, but along the way it did pick up some of ideas that first appeared in our fork. To date there have been 60+ downloads of the Saskatoon source. Anybody actually get it to compile? :) I just wanted to send out this note to see if any of the code has proven useful to anyone. So if you've got something to report (or ask), drop me a line. (If you're getting messages about Xcode not finding the frameworks, my hacky workaround was to copy them to /Library/Frameworks and try building again.) By the way, as I posted on my blog (http://e-scribe.com/news/18), the week after I announced the release of the source the project rose to the 99.33% mark on Sourceforge! Doesn't take much, clearly. thanks pb -- Paul Bissex <pb...@e-...> Database-driven web development Open source software consulting http://e-scribe.com/ PO Box 847, Northampton MA 01061 USA |

Hello Saskatoon-watchers, The Saskatoon project has stalled out. Despite the lack of a usable binary we have decided to release the source at this time, in the hopes that it will be useful either to Peter Borg (the developer of Smultron, which forms the basis for Saskatoon), or to developers working on a future fork of Smultron. Read NOTES.txt for general notes, TODO.txt for things we wanted to do, and DONE.txt for a record of significant changes. Thanks very much to: * Peter Borg for releasing his Smultron code * the developers of the OgreKit and iTerm frameworks * the Saskatoon volunteers for all their contributions * SourceForge for hosting Have fun, and don't forget to write. pb -- Paul Bissex <pb...@e-...> Database-driven web development Open source software consulting http://e-scribe.com/ PO Box 847, Northampton MA 01061 USA |
