Dear all, After a successful first edition of the Sardana Bug Squashing Party 2021 (20 participants & ~40 issues closed) we decided to organize its 2022 successor and would like to invite you to participate in this event. The event will continue in spirit of meeting developers from different institutes, sharing knowledge by participating in pair-programming sessions, peer reviews, etc. at the same time improving the Sardana project. As a novelty, this time it will be in hybrid format. The location will be at ALBA Synchrotron [1]. If you need any help with organizing your travel/ stay in Barcelona, don't hesitate to contact us. The remote participation will be possible via the Zoom platform. The event will span over three and a half days. You are very welcome to stay with us all this time, but you can also choose the days/ time slots that fit better to your agenda. So: * we will start warming up the engines on 25th of October (Tuesday) afternoon * continuing with two intensive days 26th and 27th (Wednesday and Thursday) * and eventually, for the most persistent ones :) there is still 28th (Friday) to cool down the engines before the weekend Currently our GitLab issues backlog counts with ~300 issues (50 less than a year ago, mainly thanks to your participation in the last year edition!). Now we will proceed to refine the backlog and identify the issues that the best fit to the format of the event. But you are free to select issues yourself or propose other improvements that you would like to work on during the event. Here we encourage you to already start discussing them with the rest of the community via GitLab issues. Last but not least, as preparation for the event, on the next Sardana Follow-up meeting on 13th of October we will make a short review of the Sardana architecture and code base, and present you the Pool core elements test fixtures. Many thanks in advance for you interest in the Sardana Bug Squashing Party 2022 event and we hope to meet with you in Barcelona or via Zoom!
