i want to install SAPRFC for PHP on LINUX. Therefore I installed the RFCSDK from the SAP presentation
CD. But I cannot find the file named "librfc.a". Where is it? What do I do wrong?
This is strange. Which version SAP Frontend do you use ?
The librfc.a should be part of rfcsdk.sar archive on the
presentation CD for UNIX. I have no access to this CD now,
but if you order SAP Frontend 6.20 from SAP you get three
CDROMs and one of them contains RFCSDK, SAP gateways
for UNIXes/Linux.

I have the presentation cd 4.6c/d, just the version
tested in the INSTALL guide. And from this cd i installed
the rfc package using "./R3SETUP -f ADDPACK.R3S"...
strange. This morning i received the tip, that i could get
an rpm for the sapgui at the sap ftp site. i will try this...
thank you.

The Linux RFC SDK is available via ftp under
ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/linuxlab/contrib
including the SAPCAR binary needed to unpack it.
