Installation fails at start
(See Attached Photo)

Error Message:
Mounting ' /dev/disk/by-label/salientos-xfce-v20.03' to 'run/archiso/bootmnt'
Waiting 30 seconds for device /dev/disk/by-label/salientos-xfce-v20.03' ...
ERROR: 'dev/disk/by-label/salientos-xfce-v20.03' device did not show up after 30 seconds...

Then it drops to a root cursor

Any ideas why this is failing so early into the installation?

Suggestions to address/fix?

Potentially relevant information:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
B450 TOMAHAWK MAX

Installing on machine running Windows/Ubuntu. These drives are disconnected but it means we are installation on a drive that is Sata3 or Sata4 instead of Sata1 (would this matter?)

Used 3 separate USB keys - all failed.

what are you using to write the image to USB? I would reccomend Rufus (in DD mode) or Etcher to perform these tasks. It looks like bad writes to me.

I tried Rufus and Etcher on different USB drives, even used the terminal commands to create another bootable USB. Got the same errors. Downloaded the image from the site 3x but it sounds like Bruno's solution to run without UEFI might be the issue?
Will try that when I get back to the house Wed and let you know if it works. If so, maybe this thread helps someone else with the same issue.

I had this same problem when trying to start the installation in UFFI in the BIOS, when the list of disks appears to appear try the name of the pen-drive without UFFI in the name ...

It works! Apparently running the key drive to install without UEFI was the solution. You can close the ticket, but the question remains why is this happening? Is there any way to install this with UEFI? (I think you need that if you want to dual boot windows but still use Grub, am I correct?)

It does work in UEFI mode, but you may have to choose the first menu option. Both Arch and Salient for some reason default to the third option which will fail. (unresolved as yet). You may then get a blank screen for a while, this is normal as a checksum is being performed in the background.
