Sailcut CAD 1.3.4

The main new feature of this release is that it is now possible to specify a scale when printing a sail drawing or developed panels. Sailcut CAD: 1.3.3

Sailcut CAD is a sail design and plotting software. It allows you to design and visualise your own sail and compute the accurate development of all panels in flat sheets.

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce the release of Sailcut CAD 1.3.3, just in time for the new sailing season in the Northern Hemisphere! Some of the new features of this release:

* A print preview dialog was added to preview text or drawing output, and it is now possible to select which pages to print.
* A new Mitre2 layout with panels parallel to leech and foot was contributed by Peter Meuse.
* It is now possible export each panel to a separate DXF file.
* The foot hem width can now be adjusted separately from other hem widths.
* A crash in the rare case of perfectly straight luff or leech was fixed.... read more

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce the release of Sailcut CAD 1.3.1, with the following highlights:

* It is now possible to save sails, a rig with up to 3 spreaders and a simple boat hull. The sails, rig and hull can be assembled into a complete virtual boat.
* The colour scheme of the 3D display has been improved to highlight the different elements of the boat.

Sailcut CAD 1.2.4

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce release 1.2.4 of its sail plotting package. This release fixes an offset at the tack and clew in the radial cut and comes with an improved version of the Sailcut CAD Handbook. To make installation easier, the Windows version of Sailcut CAD now comes with an installer.

Sailcut CAD 1.2.3

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce release 1.2.3 of its sail plotting package. This release allows you to view the position of maximum depth, entry and exit angles in the sail mould screen. The range of sail dimensions and round limits have also been extended in response to user requests.

Sailcut CAD 1.2.2

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce release 1.2.2 of its sail plotting package. This release fixes a bug in the Jib tack height and also improves the layout of the coordinates when printing developed panels.

Sailcut CAD 1.2.1

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce release 1.2.1 of its sail plotting package. This release fixes two bugs which were reported by Sailcut CAD users. It also includes improvements such as the display of the outline of the deck to visualise the position of the sail and a new printout of the panels with coordinates of key points for hand plotting like the aging Sailcut4.

Initial French and Spanish versions of the Sailcut CAD Handbook are now available, although there is still some work to do on both.... read more

Sailcut CAD 1.2.0

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce release 1.2.0 of its sail plotting package. Sailcut CAD's code has undergone a major overhaul for this release and has been ported to Qt 4. Sailcut CAD 1.1

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce release 1.1 of its sail plotting package. This release features several new languages including Russian (thanks to all helpers of the sailing community) and a Wing option for designing kites. The limits checker has been modified to take into account feedback from users, allowing a wider range of sail shapes to be designed. The sail mould screen has been re-designed to provide additional facility like controlling the foot shape which is the central seam of a kite wing, and allowing the use of negative camber in the leech area mostly for fully battened sails or kite wing. The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce release 1.0 of its sail plotting package. This release features several languages (thanks to all helpers of the sailing community) the radial cut option and a revised limits checker allowing a wider range of sail shape to be designed. The printout facility is now active. The sail dimensions screen has been re-designed to provide additional computation facility and the export to Carlson plotters is now operational for all sail layouts. Sailcut CAD 0.6.1 release

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce release 0.6.1 of its sail plotting package. Sailcut CAD 0.6.0 release

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce release 0.6.0 of its sail plotting package. This release adds the ability to specify and to plot hems around the sail panels. DXF file export has also been improved and both a Dutch and an Italian translation have been added.

Sailcut CAD 0.5.5 release

The Sailcut CAD project is pleased to announce release 0.5.5 of its sail plotting package. This release includes big performance improvements to the sail layout code and the ability to perform a horizontal sail cut. Other major changes include internationalisation support (a French translation is included) and DXF file export.

Sailcut CAD 0.5.0 release

Sailcut CAD 0.4.0 release

The sail plotting package Sailcut CAD continues to move forward with its 0.4.0 release. To the existing OpenGL shaded view of the 3D sail, this new release adds the ability to view the flat panel development of the sail.

Sailcut CAD 0.3.9 status report

With its 0.3.9 release, the sail plotting package Sailcut CAD is moving along nicely as a number of milestones have been achieved:
