Gihan-- We have new standards for the wiki (http://wiki.sahanafoundation.org/doku.php/standards:wiki) which discourages people from posting items wherever they think best. I understand the logic behind OCR being a project independent of Agasti or Eden but becoming a project involves a lot more of a community and endorsement and action by the board, which hasn't happened yet. I think as Darlene has suggested putting the OCR content under the Agasti: namespace for now makes more sense. As I understand it, SahanaOCR still works principally off of the forms that Agasti can print/output, is that correct? I would suggest creating the home page here: http://wiki.sahanafoundation.org/doku.php/agasti:ocr:start You can then build out additional pages under the agasti:ocr: namespace I can set up permissions for the GCI students to have access only to the agasti:ocr: namespace - thus somewhat protecting us from giving general access to the wiki to GCI students. Let me know their name and e-mail addresses and I can give them create privileges to the agasti:ocr: namespace once it is set up. You might also want to copy over the old content on Sahana OCR so they have edit access to it - pehaps to agasti:ocr:gsoc2010_project and agasti:ocr:user_guide. I don't want to give them edit access to the foundation: or user: namespaces http://wiki.sahanafoundation.org/doku.php/foundation:gsoc_geganage (legacy from gsoc) http://wiki.sahanafoundation.org/doku.php/wiki:user:lgtkaushalya (this never should have been posted here to begin with) Best regards, Mark On 11/30/2010 10:46 AM, gc wrote: > Hi Darlene, > > Thank you for quick response. Hi Darlene, Thank you for quick response. I hope the URL you suggested is OK for the time being. I'll post student's email address when I get it or he may request permission directly. Yeah, Currently Sahana OCR is maintained under Sahana Agasti, But since it is independent, It will be easy to handle Sahana OCR separately. Hi Gihan, I'm not sure how Mark & Chamindra want to handle this; but both of them & myself can give those permissions. Whichever mentor catches it or the student should email the discuss list and one of us can give the permission and then reply to the list to let everyone know its been handled. Do you have the name & email of the student? If I understand correctly, SahanaOCR is for Agasti (or at least this task is). We'll want to have the wiki page moved to the appropriate section of the wiki so: http://wiki.sahanafoundation.org/doku.php/agasti:vesuvius:sahanaocr or something like that would be preferable. I'm I incorrect in the assumption that a new project would be formed by a board action & a new committee? I'm happy to find another place for it if that's what we all want. Hi Mark, Thanks for pointing this out to everyone. > Does the CUNY team have plans for what they want to work on that should be posted? Yes, we do, and they've been ready for a few days but we're still uncertain about the future of Mayon. As soon as we know what repository we'll be pointing people to and just how "official" we are, we'll make final edits and get them out the door. I'm afraid there's nothing too terribly glamorous on our list, because the application is still so young, but we do have one or two tricks to get a little attention. If the trunk issue is solved in the next day or two, we'll put up idea stubs on Wednesday and get final copy on Thursday. Does the CUNY team have plans for what they want to work on that should be posted? Are there aspects of the Person Finder problem definition that would be relevant to Sahana Agasti or Eden (i.e. maybe bringing up to date the PFIF work that was done during the Haiti response)? Sorry for the delay responding. Was quite booked the last few days at a conference. In terms of the CSS, I am really open to a new theme for Sahana. The best approach would be to download the Sahana 0.6 Portable app with the old theme that is still being used for Vesuvius and modify it. You can download the portable app to make it easier for yourself. Instructions: http://wiki.sahanafoundation.org/phase2/doku.php/doc:installportableapp:english The CSS files are located in the directory /www/theme/default/sahana.css of the Sahana root directory which is located in /PortableApps/SahanaPortable2/www/sahana from the Portable app base directory. Images are store in img sib-folder in the theme folder. I am looking for a good quality "web 2.0" and usable theme like that found in Ushahidi http://haiti.ushahidi.com/ You can also modify the home page if require to make the first page more effective You can find the home page in the /mod/home/main.inc Chamindra de Silva http://chamindra-de-silva.blogspot.com | http://twitter.com/ChamindraS On Fri, Nov 26, 2010 at 8:29 AM, Jyotsna Prakash <jyotsna.prakash@...>wrote: > Hello, > > I am a Google Code-In participant.
