Category: Messaging module Group: rel 0.5 CVS trunk Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 4 Private: No Submitted By: Fran Boon (franboon) Assigned to: sriganeshan (sriganeshan) Summary: SMTP username/password shouldn't be mandatory fields Initial Comment: Should SMTP Username/Password *really* be 'req'? Many SMTP servers don't need this & having too many Req fields is annoying for users (having to fill in needless dummy data to satisfy a strict form) phpmailer certainly has the option to disable SMTP auth. - perhaps this should be the field to fill-in? (I'd defult to it off - I've certainly never needed it myself, across many ISPs in many countries) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=709778&aid=1710313&group_id=127855 |
