Please describe the feature request below in as much detail as possible.
If "SPORTS SHOW" would need to be extended into a scheduled "TV SHOW" recording, trigger a reschedule event for "TV SHOW". If the reschedule is unsuccessful, record "TV SHOW" as originally intended.
As you pointed out, this means that SRE would need to check for "extend" requirements on "SPORTS SHOWS" which may not be scheduled to record in the first place.

Not sure if I'll actually implement this, but it is the first solution to this problem that I'll actually consider implementing.
