Besides the "Saga GIS tutorials" web page (see below), Rohan Fisher and colleagues published a manual on satellite image analysis and terrain modelling, which also includes a quick introduction to SAGA GUI:

Fisher, R., Hobgen, S., Mandaya, I., Kaho, N.R. and Zulkarnain (2017): Satellite Image Analysis and Terrain Modelling - A practical manual for natural resource management, disaster risk and development planning using free geospatial data and software. pdf

Rohan Fisher and a number of colleagues also operate a web resource "Satellite image and terrain analysis for all", which brings together a range of tutorials designed to introduce satellite image and terrain analysis using linked downloadable datasets.

Have a look at the site here:
https://sagatutorials.wordpress.com/
https://sagagisindonesia.wordpress.com/
https://sagagisamericalatina.wordpress.com/

The sites provide training for free open-source software for landscape mapping and monitoring using Satellite-derived data. The content is in English, Indonesian, and Spanish (Latin America). The sites were developed in international collaboration, leveraging space tech with local knowledge. The overarching goal of this
work has been to democratise and decentralise access to and the use of space tech-derived data for local communities.

This site provides an overview of some key processes including:

· Accessing free satellite image and elevation data
· Satellite image classification, including OBIA methods
· Basic terrain analysis
· Integrated satellite image and hydrological modelling applications
· Service access and emergency response modelling using satellite and terrain data

The development of this site is an ongoing project. As extra training material is developed for teaching and project applications they will be included here.
