The DTM file I'm opening won't load in SAGA GIS for Grid and DTM formats. Please help

    Hi,

stands MNT for "modèle numérique de terrain" or is it a raster file format? If it is French for DTM, please let us know the file format you try to open and how you try to open it.

Please have a look here, we really need some basic information in order to provide an answer.

    Best regards,
    Volker

it is DEM "Digital elevation model" format.

As GDAL has a driver for this, you should be able to load the dataset. A simple drag-and-drop into the GUI should work, otherwise use the Import Raster tool.

When I drag the raster into the software it doesn't work either.

Ah , ok - so the dataset gets loaded but the result is looking erroneous. As I said, SAGA uses the GDAL USGSDEM driver to load the raster. Please have a look if your datasets meets the specifications listed there.

Having a closer look at your screenshot, I see that you did not use the "Import Raster" tool (which would use GDAL in the background). Please try that tool.

Without a sample dataset it is difficult to provide any further help, maybe you can provide one.

    Hi,

all of these formats (.tif, hdr.adf) should actually work out of the box. But from your last screenshot I see that you don't seem to have the io_gdal (.dll) tool library loaded. This is the tool library with the (generic) "Import Raster" tool that can be used to load all raster formats that are supported by GDAL. You should verify why this tool library is not loaded.

But it seems that you have found a workaround anyway.
