The license of Firelib is not free. It restricts commercial use and is definitely not public domain.

You could try to ask the developers, if they'd re-license it under the terms of the GPL -- especially they deprecated it and switched to Fire Behavior Software Developer Kit.

If there already is such an agreement, please document it.

    Since you seem to ask this for packaging in Fedora, and I also need this while packaging for debian: I will add an option:
    --disable-non-free
    to configure. This should disable all non-free (according to the OSI guidelines) parts of saga without having to patch the automake/autoconf files.

    Hi,

    this has been implemented by Johan for SAGA 2.2.4. There are now the two configure options:

    --disable-libfire

    --disable-triangle
