Getting Started

SafeFrames is easy to integrate into your site with existing ads. By using SafeFrames you protect your site and your users from having a degraded experience due to errant advertisements. SafeFrames renders the advertisements in an IFrame hosted in a different domain, so the ad only has limited access to the hosting page.

This short getting started guide will aid you in setting up SafeFrames and placing your existing ads inside SafeFrames with minimal coding changes.

Prerequisites

You must have access to a secondary top level domain from your main website. Ideally this would be a Content Delivery Network (CDN). Hosting SafeFrames in a subdomain will not provide appropriate protection from errant ads.

Ex:
Main publishing domain: www.example.com
Secondary CDN domain: examplecdn.com

Incorrect CDN domain: cdn.example.com

Setup

Getting the files

Configure your site to include SafeFrames Source

  • Place the contents of the '''src''' directory on your CDN. This includes a '''js''' folder and an '''html''' folder.
  • Modify your hosting page to include a script reference to the SafeFrames
