I'm happy to announce that SAFARI IssueWorks 0.9.0 (Preview Release 1) is now available. SAFARI is a content management system that works in issues like print publications.
While it is the first real release of this project and it is considered a beta, I think you will find most everything is working quite well. The main things that should change before 1.0 are in the areas of documentation and polish. Please let us know if you have any suggestions, and of course bug reports are welcome too.
I'm happy to report that I just finished committing the current code to CVS. Please feel free to check it out and play with it. If you do try it out, please stop by our forum at report how things went.

Tim Butler (Project Manager, a.k.a. uninet) is working on a BETA release, which will hopefully be ready in the next few weeks. Current planned features for this release:

- SAFARI's own SQEC formatting code or HTML (you can enable either or both of them)
- User Management with multiple user permission levels
- Web-based installer
- Partially modular design
- Possibly a few more features... read more
