  1. What do you recommend for native DSD playback:
    a. ASIO support 2.1.2 (which is almost 9 years old) + DSDTranscoder 1.1.5 (which is year old)
    or
    b. foo_out_asio+dsd-0.1.6 (which is up to date but still quite new and probably still experimental, judging by version numer)?

  2. Why was native DSD removed from sacd-input, thus makng it necessary to use either DSDTranscoder or asio+dsd?

  3. Is your asio+dsd plugin any different form foobars ASIO support 2.1.2 concerning both DSD and PCM files playback?

  4. Is asio+dsd capable of DoP or does it play only Native?

  5. Does DSDTranscoder work with asio+dsd to create DoP?

    1. I suppose b.
    2. Because of DoP only devices.
    3. I tried to make it look similar to the original 2.1.2.
    4. If DAC ASIO driver supports Native DSD it plays Native, if not - it plays DoP.
    5. It should, but I never tested this setup.

    Concerning question 2:
sacd-input plugin has "DoP for converter" option. So assuming it would be capable of Native playback (without Transcoder or asio+dsd) it should also be capable of wrapping Native into DoP with this option checked (only when needed).

"DoP for Converter" means that the output WAV /FLAC/etc. file will contain DoP instead of converted to PCM source. Native DSD is not possible without such crutches.

    Regarding 3.:
Is foo_out_asio+dsd-0.1.6 based on the original ASIO component or did you do a rewrite?

Rewrite (cause no source code is available). Though look is quite similar.
