Good day. I have foobar2000 1.6.5
I have installed your input sacd component - 1.3.4.2
However, when I try to play a DSD audio file, all I am getting is hiss/static.
Could you put me on the right track to correct this please.
Many thanks
Jerry

Even when File->Preferences->Tools->SACD->Output Mode is set to PCM?
Maxim you are a star! That works! HOWEVER, what I don't understand is why there IS an option under File->Preferences->Tools->SACD->Output Mode for DSD as well as DSD & PCM, and those options don't work? I would have thought that the DSD option was for DSD files? Regards
What DAC are you using? Some may require a driver.
Output Mode: DSD is for DSD/DoP DAC. If you don't have such DAC you should use PCM option.
DSD & PCM is for foobar2000's visualisation since it works from PCM.
I was going to suggest it but I wanted to do it in a roundabout way: you do need a DAC that support DSD in order to play SACD format without conversion, do you know that? Thanks to China, these are now available very cheaply.
Thanks tons, guys! Actually I'm ok to play the files via my sound system but I was wanting to pass the DSF files on to a friend who plays back via foobar2000 on PC so I was trying to see how to get it to work on my PC first. Do some PCs come with DAC ? You'll gather I'm not really very clued-up in this field!
If your PC has a build-in sound card, that's a DAC. To play SACD/DSD format you need a DAC that specifically supports that format, presumably one that connects externally. I'm not aware of any build-in sound card that supports SACD/DSD. It's not a popular format and it's advantage is not obvious.
