Could you dump with the DSD Transcoder (Trace output: Tap Input) while this noise is happening? It the noise is produced by foo_input_sacd plugin it should be on the data.

Forgive me, but how exactly do I do that? Right now I do not use the DSD Transcoder.

I think I have some log files.
Even with the transcoder installed and using it as an ASIO output, the noise problem I describe persists. The only way to make the noise go away is to set the transcoder to output PCM rather than DSD to the DAC. On the DAC display I can confirm that when set to PCM the DAC receives transcoded PCM.
To rule out hardware being an issue I downloaded a program called JRiver that plays back DSD files. No noise issue.
FWIW I don't remember the noise being this loud/prominent when seeking through tracks, skipping tracks, etc. a few years ago. It was like a small tic then. It must have been some sort of update that caused this problem.

What output setup do you use?
I have tried a few different ASIO components for output and it makes no difference .
Foo_out_asio, foo_out_asio+dsd, etc. all do the same thing. I get the staticy noises no matter what settings I use.
The staticy noises do not happen when playing PCM files over ASIO or WASAPI.
The problem is limited to DSD and ASIO.

Thank you. From these files it's seen that you use faders, and they don't work in DSD mode. Try to play without them.
I unchecked the "fading" box in the output menu and that seems to have worked! Will test more later to be sure. Thanks.
