I spoke with a gentleman in our legal department today. In short, I am clear of Sun's Research Use license as Java and JVM related development has not been and will not be part of my duties. I have also spoken with my manager, who sees no problem in excluding me from any potential future Java related projects. Moreover, there is no question that JIT and JVM/JIT integration work that I do can be asserted as "clean room", because NAI is not in possession of any Sun JIT technology. Now that I have specifically arranged through my management to NOT participate in any present or future work with Sun's intellectual property, I am clear of any contracts the company may subsequently enter into. I'm willing to state this "publicly" on sablevm-user if you would like. Andrew Purtell from home -- apu...@ac... |
