I definitely see your point about the Java programs restricted to being 
open source under Cygwin if it *is* the case.

But that wouldn't that mean it's also illegal to run proprietary 
programs with Kaffe (GPL)?  Or any other GPL'd interpreter / emulator?

I thought SableVM was under the LGPL for different reasons, such as 
being able to use it in a proprietary embedded OS or something.
