    Hi, I have never seen this error. Either it's a Python vs s3cmd compatibility issue or a mismatch with some modules being left over from a previous s3cmd version.

    How did you get your s3cmd? From source? Through a package manager? What version is it? And what Python version? Have you used an older version of s3cmd on the same computer?

    s3cmd --version
    s3cmd version 1.0.0

    I downloaded sources and installed with python setup.py install.
    It is the first time I download and use this software

    looks like it is not working with python 2.4, works with 2.5 on the same server
