I would like more varied random encounters.
Is there a way (without adding in massive amounts of new stuff) to have Creator group creatures in themes and wandering monster triggers? Such as by race, family or by an installed <None> trigger?
So, if there were seven different types of goblins in the trigger, there would be a chance that instead of an encounter of three Warted Goblins, you could encounter 1 Warted Goblin and two Brown Goblins.
My only concern about using the race and/or family properties is that certain creatures of different races and families should be encountered together (Goblin Wolf Handler and Wolves for instance), and others should not be encountered together (Magical Flying Axe and a Treant).
Creator does allow previously built up encounters to be placed in themes (and this works very well for what I have mentioned), but the wandering monster trigger does not.

Yes, the wandering monster trigger (and the new "Wandering monsters" feature) don't have any "monster compatibility setting".
For the time being, the only way to do that is to pre-make some encounters (as you noticed).
I'll have a look at the code though, but I don't think it will be doable without "adding a massive amount of new stuff"!

This should probably be shelved for the time being then. Maybe a future update.

Definitely a future update!
