That's the name of the game with the game/program; that's what it's made for. It gives me that feeling of really "now you're playing with power" with a great sense of creativity. I hope the old users'll come back to the forum so we can keep this great software going. I plan on using AI tools to accelerate development as much as I can and like you, use existing pixel art assets where available. It's just IDing the right concept to work with is one of the issues. The other is Runescript itself; I'm...
Cheers! No worries, I'm surprised anyone is still around! I always come back to RuneSword now and again so I figured making a "mod" for it and all of its available tomes would be fun.
Hi Aion! Sorry, somehow I missed your original post so I'd like to welcome you to the RS2 forums here and hope you have fun with the program! I still have high hopes for it myself! John Stone
Have made some progress here. Refined the cutscene graphics and have made new skill icons, including skills that previously had no icons.
Hello everyone/anyone, I wanted to share the beginnings of a project I recently began to give the game a bit of a makeover. Current plans are to overhaul the music (done), sound, and graphics. While the engine has strict limits on acceptable graphics (8bit bmp, usually) I've found that they can still be made to look more cohesive using higher quality free graphics and resizing tools. I'd started out simply wanting to use the original RS1 style GUI and updating the main menu with new options to accommodate...
Hi. I'm just here to make an open request for the person out there that received the only hard drive archive of the crosscut forums ( https://web.archive.org/web/20170705082734/http://www.runesword.com/forums/ ) that if they still have that thing if they could upload it's contents to mediafire, archive.org or what have you since not only does archive.org's wayback machine only have 9,694 urls from that website it's incomplete since there should be at least 13,598 files and upwards of 24,309 files...
The zip file mentioned on this thread below has some tomes: https://sourceforge.net/p/runesword/discussion/460443/thread/0e9ecf6a/
From what I see, most of the links regarding to this game lead nowhere. Is there a publicly available archive of tomes for this game?
You need to have the latest version 2.6 or 2.6.3 to play, and you may not even need to include VB6FR.DLL or additional files. I tried with the 2.5 version attempted to update but still got The language DLL 'VB6FR.DLL' could not be found error each time even with the dll in game folder and system folder. Installing from the 2.6 version allowed it to finally run.
Ok guys, it looks like Itch deleted the offending game page and the user's account as well but the thing with that website is that apparently they can just re-upload the same account and gamepage without changing anything so in case any of you see that runesword and magic url again, just report it again. I practically have a stock response email message for that bogus upload so if Itch.io wants their own website staff to keep reading what must look like spam over and over again then it's their problem!...
Hi fellow RS2 fans! Just wanted to pass along the info that an itch.io user is posting (what I'm presuming to be) the program from this sourceforge site and charging money for it here: https://kieferd20.itch.io/runesword-and-magic . I've used itch.io's site report option to get them to remove this url but it's been a number of days and their site is still up. So if there's anyone else out there that cares about this program the best thing you can probably do is sign up on itch and report the game...
Hi! I compiled some music for R2. Sorry, I did not particularly liked the original midis ;-) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1g2HGgNopPp86Tb1GMattIzeu8SeX3EYz All music in this collection was released on https://opengameart.org as Public Domain CC0 by various artists To replace music in Runesword 2 https://sourceforge.net/projects/runesword/ install the game, delete \Runesword\Data\Music folder and unpack this archive into \Runesword\Data folder For best effect, run RuneSword Creator, select Modify...
Nikita, RuneSword has been open source for many years. CrossCut can no longer offer...
