    Hi there

I've just installed Rufus 0.6.9 and opened all the relevant ports. Everything is running fine except for the fact that only one torrent is ever active at a time. I've tried changing the value of Max Simultaneous Torrents to no avail. All other torrents just say 'Checking'. Any ideas people?

The checking may indicate that these were torrents that you had partially downloaded with another client. You'll have to wait until they finish checking.  If they never finish checking then you may have a problem.  If this is the case post close Rufus and see if there is an error log in the program files directory called rufus.exe.log.  Post the log here or send it to c4n15.rufu5 at gmail dot com.

      Cheers

Thanks for your help but it seems that the log file isn't in the program directory.

Here are a few questions that might help me find a solution to the problem you are having:
Are you starting torrents that were partially downloaded by another client?
How long do you wait for the torrents to finish checking?  Are you letting them check one at a time or all at once?  How many torrents are you running at the same time?

Also which version of Rufus are you running and on what operating system?

      Hi there

I'm running Rufus 0.6.9 on Windows XP

I've got eight active torrents, three of which are attempting to download. Some of the torrents are new, some have been partially downloaded with utorrent 1.2.2.

I've left the torrents for several hours and they never appear to finish checking.

      Thanks for your help

Unlike many other multi-torrent clients, Rufus needs on listening port per torrent.  Your problem is most likely caused by Rufus being unable to assign more than one port to the other torrents.

Also, I've found that on my d-link router, I cannot forward a range of ports, with one single port map.  You need to forward the ports individually, so that each port has its own port map.

      Regards

If the above suggestion from panique doesn't work can you send a copy of your btconfig.ini file to c4n15.rufu5 at gmail dot com - you might have to rename the extension to something like .doc as gmail doesn't like .ini files

      Thanks

Nice one panique, sure enough it was to do with the ports I had open. A pretty elementary mistake huh? Thanks for your help as well d0c 54v4g3, and for over-estimating my competence! Most impressed by the client so far, the real clincher is to see how well it seeds on Oink. That was the only reason I abandoned utorrent.

      Cheers!
