I'm not an expert on "standard" *nix dynamic runtime stuff, but I think
this maps to:
void * executable_handle = dlopen("path/to/executable");
void * symbol_address = dlsym(executable_handle, blah);
dlclose(executable_handle);
on most GNUstep-supported platforms. man dlopen may be a good starting
point.
