Initial Comment:
The GNOME canvas developers fixed a bug that has a
workaround in ruby-gnome2. Both solutions cannot
coexist, which lead to [1].

This can be fixed by removing the workaround and
letting ruby/gnomecanvas depend on the newer gnomecanvas.
