The ATT Broadband edition 3030 is from year 2000. The old drive was real loud and sometimes recording didn't work. With my PC experience I knoew I needed to replace the drive inside.

Anyhow I purchased 120 GB Seagate Barracuda ATA HD from Best Buy for only $49 - part number ST3120026A. I followed the instructions from the replaytv project web page line by line. I turned on the unit with the new drive installed and it worked first time.

Now I have 4 times the recording space - from 30 hours to 120 hours. And I can not hear the new drive at all. It is completely quiet.

Thank you everyone who has worked on this project. I owe you guys big! This is amazing!

      Nice.
Been thinking about a larger HD for my 5040.
      Extra space would be nice.
But its is working perfect and I'm afraid of turning it into scrap with a lifetime subscription.
