Hi!

I "achieve" the installation on Debian but it refuses to detect my RealTek RTL8187B:

I used your's installation method ( http://rtl-
wifi.sourceforge.net/wiki/Installing ) and finally:

# modprobe rtl8187

Ok

# iwconfig:

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

Any clue? Thanks in advance!

  Which driver are you trying to use? The driver provided on this project is for 8187L (at least I haven't gotten it to work with my 8187B yet, anyway). Try the driver you can find here: http://rtl8187b.sourceforge.net/
  This isn't a very good driver, and I can't get it to insert when I build it on Debian with 2.6.26 kernel (lenny), but it works on earlier kernels (for me 2.6.24, one of the etch kernels). I've been using it for about a year now, with few problems--aside from not being able to update my kernel. I haven't managed to get wpa to work with it either. Good luck!
