I want the Gutter to have a fixed width.
The Gutter resizes if going from line 9 to line 10.

FWIW, the Gutter now only changes size when going from line 99 to 100, 999 to 1000, etc. Going from 9 lines to 10 no longer resizes the Gutter. There is currently still no way to set a fixed width to the gutter, however.

The idea is that the Gutter is only as large as necessary to display all line numbers, to maximize visible editor space. Why would you want the Gutter to take up more horizontal screen space than necessary? What happens when the user opens a file with so many lines, your fixed with is no longer sufficient to properly display all line numbers?

This will not be fixed. See my previous comment; the user has to add the 100th, 1000th or 10,000th line to see the Gutter change size, and these events aren't very common. Having the Gutter as small as possible leaves the maximum area available for the editor itself.
