Hi everybody, Sorry for this kind of stupid questions, @_@ I just contact the 802.1w, .1s SPEC these days, and find out some .1w simulator resource. In my opinion, RSTP and MSTP defined new BPDU and Priority Vectors (5 and 8) for bridges communications, SPEC describes state machines for changing PORT ROLE respectively, But I still do not understand Why RSTP can reconfigure STP "RAPIDLY". For OLD SPT Algo., bridge detect LAN broken and then send TCN to the ROOT bridge with smallest Bridge ID, and transfer its own port to designated port. Is it already simple and rapid? Could anybody explain it in more simple words!? or help me to pick out the KEY idea! Thanks in advance!! --Ku |
