    Brad Smith - 2012-08-04

My name is Brad Smith (developed Easy SFV Creator and Easy MD5 Creator) and I
want to make majorchanges to RSSOwl.

I wish to add 11 major and amazing features and/or bug fixes to RSSOwl
2.1.4 to make fantastic RSSOwl 2.2.0. that should be able to perform anything
any RSS feed user could ever want.

I want to add changing of icons for folders. Add an advanced filter query
language to all searches so that you have absolute control of what data
    you want to filter .

However, I need the assistance of one of the veteran RSSOwl developer(s) to
get me started on the right track and (I doubt it, possibly unstuck if that
    should occur).

Worked with Java, have very little knowledge about Eclipse so need assistance.

Please assist me so that I can take RSSOwl to the next level.

Please can one of the venerate developers get my on Google chat (bradsmithsite
gmail.com) or e-mail me at brad nadolaboratories.com or bradsmithsite
gmail.com please to assist me with very minor things. Just at the start of the
project as I've never used Eclipse before.

Hi Benjamin. Been on that page and still haven't come right.

Followed the instructions carefully! Tried Subclipse (installed in Eclipse
    3.4.2) and then opening
    "http://www.rssowl.org/dl/rssowl.psf",
which fails. Used Subverse, and don't know how to open the project. I need to
ask a few questions just to get the project building and then I'll be on my
way. Could you get my on g-mail (bradsmithsite@gmail.com) so that I can help
me get going? Won't take long.

    Including downloading everything with subverse!

I've programmed Java before, but not with Eclipse.

I'm going to add the following features:

    • Add "News FIlters" button to toolbar.
    • When using the non-standard font, adding a condition or action to the news filter entries dialog reverts to the standard font when adding items and doesn't use the user selected font.
    • Add changing of tree node text and background color by using "Properties for <Node>".
    • Allows "News Filters" to be applied to all incoming RSS enteries, not just the first news filter. I want to filter multiple site movies based on publisher category into a single Bin, then refilter out all the movies I'm looking for, then filter left over by DVD, BRRIP, Cam, TS, etc. into folders. Likewise with music, books, etc.
    • Add "Move to Top", "Move to Bottom" and "Clone..." to the "News Filter" dialog buttons.
    • Add "Background Color", "Font Bold', "Font Underline", "Font Italic" and "Font Striketrhough" label format properties, not just fore color.
    • Allow changing of, and serializing/deserializing, oft he tree node icons.
    • Add news filter query search to conditions: "Entire News", "Title", "Description" and "Author".
E.g. american chopper !"senior vs? junior" or "house !(desperate OR
      housewives)"

    • Add news filter actions "Do Nothing" for creation of comments in "News Filters" dialog (as news filter rules with be
      capable of being formatted.

    • Add indentation and format font and colors for news filters entries (to organize rules properly).

    • Add "Move Up" and "Move Down" buttons to news filter conditions and actions.

I have all related to the project:

Downloaded all the source code for RSSOwl, not just 2.1.x.

Could you please assist me. Just asking to help get the project build, not add
any of the new features. Will do that myself!

P.S. Other uses have requested some of the features I've listed. Omea already
has the advanced query search feature.
