I just installed RSSOwl 2.1.2 on Windows 7 64 bits, and everytime I try to run
it from the created desktop shortcut I get the following simple popup:
"Could not create the Java Virtual Machine"
There is no log created at C:/Users/<your.name>/.rssowl2/.metadata/.log. As a
matter of fact, no .rssowl2 directory exists on my user profile directory.
Here's my JAVA VM information:
java version "1.6.0"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build pwa6460sr9ifix-
IBM J9 VM (build 2.4, JRE 1.6.0 IBM J9 2.4 Windows 7 amd64-64
JIT enabled, AOT enabled)
J9VM - 20101124_069295
JIT - r9_20101028_17488ifx2
GC - 20101027_AA)
JCL - 20110211_02
Hope you can help me
is your JAVA_HOME environment variable set? to check/set refer to
Can you try starting it from command line (use the tool "cmd" and navigate to
RSSOwl's directory by using the command "cd")?
Build dates look like your Java VM needs an update, but I don't know IBM's J9
so I might be wrong.
Do you use Eclipse?
I fixed it by changing to the Sun JRE. Thanks anyway!
