I try to load Penny Arcade RSS feed ( http://www.penny-arcade.com/RSS.xml ) and get
RSSOwl is not able to display that Newsfeed.
Reason: Unable to locate that file. . Corrupt GZIP trailer.
Status: HTTP/1.1 Status 200 OK
Mozilla parses the file fine, and will show the correct XML. Is there something going on with the feed, or is this an RSSOwl thing? The same url worked about 2 months ago, but has been a constant error since then.
Great, thanks. I tried to test it manually with telnet to port 80, but since I wasn't putting gzip into an accepts header on the raw http, I think it was just returning the uncompressed version.
I looked for a config (in RSSOwl) to be able to turn gzip off as a supported mime type, but couldn't find anything like that in preferences or feed properties. Let me know if I can help in some way.
No there is no option to turn that of. I looked at it manually and without GZip, RSSOwl has no problems displaying it.
Anyways, maybe you could ask the provider of the feed if he is really sure that his GZip Stream is valid?
Looks as if the feed is providing gzip compression which is for some reason not valid gzip.
Going to check that.
