I sure would feel better if I had a good way to monitor an active download and then easily go to it in Finder (a la Safari, etc. and every other RSS app I've tried.

For download, the internal Browser is being used. Should be Safari on Mac. Did you notice?
No I didn't. I just checked and no DLs made from any RSS feed show in Safari's Downloads window. Something is doing the transfer as the files always come down fine.
Interesting. Actually what you see in the newstext area is the Safari Browser embedded. So, whenever you download something from there, it should do exactly the same as it would when you would download something using Safari externally.
Are you running some kind of download manager?
Nothing fancy at all. Just created a fresh new admin user, logged out of my usual, and still no luck.

Yep. That's the behavior. I have to see the size the site sez the file is and watch for it to get there and stop.
