How can I stop RSS Owl from listening/using IPV6 ?
Disable IPv6 on your PC. But why would you want to do that?
RSSOwl does some loopback traffic (i.e. traffic from RSSOwl to RSSOwl via the network stack) which is necessary for displaying feeds using the internal browser. It does not matter if it uses IPv6 or IPv4, just what's available.
genodeft, are you saying that it is 'Not'
possible to disable ipv6 in RSSOwl ?
It is not possible to disable ipv6 specifically for RSSOwl since there is no technical reason to do so. If you want RSSOwl not tu use IPv6, you will need to disable IPv6 for your local network or your operating system.
Thanks for the reply genodeft. Curious why it isn't possible... I have all ipv6 disabled on the network, and regulate many other programs with their options to allow only ipv4. I don't need or want the ipv6 traffic... it would be nice for rssowl to allow the user's a choice to use ipv4 or ipv6.
Does it matter if RSSOwl uses IPv4 or IPv6? It should not. If it's just for the loopback traffic you can ignore that.
