#1418 FTP feedlist download failed with error: Closed

From forum https://sourceforge.net/projects/rssbandit/forums/forum/335140/topic/3889045

"Hi I'm using RSS Bandit I had made a Remote Storage file on my old laptop running on Win XP SP3. I installed the same version of RSS Bandit on a new laptop loaded with Windows 7. I tried to download my feeds but it says "feedlist download failed with error: Closed" . From what I've looked around the net, this typically occurs when the download was done on one version of RSS Bandit and the upload was on another version, but here I have used the exact same install file on both systems. Further, the error log and the trace log show no instance of recording this error."

"Same problem here. Yes, using FTP. Uploads appear to work from either WinXP or Win7, without error. Then,

  • after uploading on Win7, both WinXP and Win7 can download successfully.
  • after uploading on WinXP, both WinXP and Win7 get this error on download (yes, WinXP fails to download the file it has just uploaded).

I think I know what the problem is (or at least, what causes the symptoms), and have a workaround. ZIP file produced on WinXP has two extra XML files in it, compared with Win7 - namely, flagitems.xml and replyitems.xml. On my machine, both contained a trivial content that seemed to do nothing but link back to itself:

  •

  •

    Flagged Items

Container of flagged feeds

  •

  •

    Sent Items

Container of sent items (reply)

So, I simply went to C:\Documents and Settings\itandetnik\Application Data\RssBandit\ and deleted these two files. After that, upload/download works fine in all directions."
