You can improve the integration with KDE by applying this patch and then typing

./configure --with-kdessconfigdir=$( kde-config --prefix )/share/applnk/System/ScreenSavers ...

The patch will place the screen savers under the "OpenGL Screen Savers" category of your KDE Control Center's Screen Savers module.
