Problem with File Release System Resolved

Thanks to the efforts of the SourceForge team the recent problem with the file release system appears to have been resolved. The latest release of RSP is now available on some, but as yet not all, of the SourceForge mirrors. For more information about downloading RSP please see the downloads page at http://rsp.sourceforge.net/download.php

Problem with File Release System

It has come to our attention that users have been unable to download RSP from SourceForge's file release system. For some reason the released files have not propogated to any of the mirrors. As a temporary solution you can download the 0.1.0 release directly from the downloads page at http://rsp.sourceforge.net/download.php

The SourceForge team have been alerted to this problem and we look forward to a speedy resolution. In the mean time we would like to thank everyone who has shown an interest in this initial release of the project.

RSP Compiler version 0.1.0 released

RSP (Retargetable Server Pages) is a retargetable language for writing portable web applications. Web applications can be written once in RSP and then compiled, using the RSP Compiler, to either ASP, JSP or PHP. This is the first release of the RSP Compiler.

The RSP language is syntactically similar to Java/JSP. It is strongly typed and pseudo object orientated. Its standard library contains functions and objects for common web programming tasks and database abstraction.... read more

First Release Delayed

Ok, so there was no first release in June. This was for largely domestic reasons - too much to do, too little time. However the source code is "nearly ready" and a 0.1 release is imminent. The 0.1 release will be a working prototype; its purpose will be to start gathering some interest in the project.

As mentioned in the project roadmap (see http://rsp.sourceforge.net/roadmap.php\) there is a 0.2 release scheduled for the end of the summer. This will be a major rewrite of the 0.1 release. In particular the way in which the standard library is defined and handled by the compiler will be significantly altered.

RSP Initial Work

Since gaining SourceForge approval, the RSP project has begun slowly making material available. Currently the manual and roadmap are online; more will follow shortly.

Currently the project is in a prototype stage. The basic language has been defined and there is a prototype compiler working. Over the next month these materials will be posted on SourceForge. The language manual is already available on the website. It is hoped that an initial release of the version 0.1 compiler will be made by the end of June.... read more

RSP Approved by SourceForge

The RSP project has been approved by the SourceForge team. Over the next month the project will begin to take shape within SourceForge and code will be made available and released. However, please be patient, as the primary developer is currently sitting his final exams for his degree!
