I've merged the debian directory into the main svn repository. Its presence
there won't interfere with debian maintenance as long as it isn't included in
release tarballs, and I think having the one repository will make things
easier overall for everybody who uses the debian stuff.

If you are tracking svn, including the debian directory, you'll probably need
to delete the latter before svn updating the parent directory otherwise svn
may complain about finding files in the way.

http://roxterm.sourceforge.net/#debian needs to be updated to reflect the above.

Could you add a few lines to that section and add a "Debian" section in
INSTALL that briefly describes the steps to build from SVN? I believe that
roughly comes down to:

svn co ...

cd roxterm

sudo apt-get install devscripts build-essential fakeroot

sudo apt-get build-dep roxterm

debuild -us -uc

cd ..

sudo dpkg -i roxterm*.deb

You can link to http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/20 as a general guide.

Quoting http://roxterm.sourceforge.net/#debian

From version 1.14.2-1 onwards you can check out the debian module for a
specific version using the tag debian-$VERSION, for example:

That doesn't seem to be the case, currently:

% svn ls https://roxterm.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/roxterm/tags/
debian-1.14.2-1/
debian-1.15.2-1/
debian-1.16.1-1/
debian-1.16.2-1/
debian-1.16.3-1/
release-1.0.0/
release-1.0.1/
[...]

given 1.18.2-1 is the latest. I guess tagging needs to be rolled into the
build automation.

You're right, I've corrected the manual, including adding a reference to a new
file INSTALL.Debian.
