Something similar to a freeze

I use Roxterm 2.9.5 under Ubuntu Vivid. When I use the Bash in a Roxterm window it tends to stop suddenly and then it takes no input from the keyboard anymore. However, this is not really a freeze because CTRL-C makes it work again. What aggravates the problem is that it happens also when I use vim in a Roxterm window and CTRL-C does not help.
As bash and vim work in GnomeTerminal the problem seems to be related to Roxterm. Maybe it is just some stupid keyboard shortcut that makes the application stop working? The problem occurs randomly and is not reproducable. Any hints ?

This is strange. Does roxterm's GUI still workduring the freezes (menus etc)? Can you open another terminal (xterm or gnome-terminal etc if roxterm has completely frozen) and check whether something's hogging the CPU?
And as you're using vivid you could use my PPA and upgrade to 3.1.4.

Hi Tony, it just happened again: Yes, the menus in Roxterm's GUI continue to work and I can even open another tab where the bash works normally, only one tab does not take keyboard input anymore. The CPU usage is normal. CTRL-C just made it work again.
But there is still another problem and I report it in the same thread because it may be a hint to some general input/output problem of the Roxterm-version I use: When the "top" command runs in a Roxterm window, then some lines are simply not shown. That does not happen, when "top" runs in a Gnome-Terminal, see the attached screenshot (left Roxterm, right Gnome-Terminal). The missing lines change, sometimes 3-4 lines are not shown.
I don't know what could be causing the freezing. The problem with top looks like a palette issue, most likely you've got the bold colour set to black.

Yes, definitely, the top problem was a settings problem. Regarding the freeze I will try the newer version from your ppa. Thank you for your time.
Any chance you're pressing Ctrl+S? The next time this "freeze" happens, try pressing Ctrl+Q. If it unfreezes that it was indeed a Ctrl+S.
