I ran into a similar problem, and what I discovered is that .bashrc and
.bash_profile on my system do not get ran until I open a bash terminal
(which is after X gets it's ENV settings... In order for me to get the
environments changed for $CHOICESPATH and for that matter the $LIB's (
see recent email) A needed to add that to the /etc/profile or ~/.profile
~ files... On MDK it loads these files before X thus setting you X Env...
( Someone correct me if I'm wrong )

| Subject: [rox-users] export Choices
| I run a home compiled rox 2.1.2, just the filer. I have set in .bashrc
| and in .bash_profile:
| export CHOICESPATH=/home/famille/.config/Choices
| and moved ~/Choices to ~/.config/Choices
| However, rox keeps on ignoring the config set in .config and recreates a
| ~/Choices everytime I change any setting.
| echo $CHOICESPATH gives
| I run rox from fbpanel, no session manager involved. I even tried
| running it with:
| export CHOICESPATH=/home/famille/.config/Choices && rox
| Running with openbox on slackware 10 if it matters.
| Any idea?
| Thanks in advance,
