A week or so ago I noticed several messages about using xfce4 with
ROX. Not wanting all of the overheads, I settled for getting just the xfwm
and necessary libraries.
When first installed and ROX session started while logging on there
was half a screen-ful of error messages. By creating a .xfce4 directory, a
settings sub-directory and a couple of empty xml files I have reduced to
the solitary message -
**Message: Standard XSETTINGS manager already detected for screen 0
Could some kind person indicate how I can either correct the problem
(if it is a problem) or otherwise eliminate the message - I know I can send
it to /dev/null - but that is really begging the question of why it is
I half suspect that the presence of the message may have something to
do with the fact that my .xfwm4rc script seems not to be obeyed.
All clues/help gratefully received!

XFCE and ROX both want to be your XSETTINGS manager (but ROX-Session gets
there first). The message is safe to ignore, except that it reminds you
that changing some things using XFCE's configuration system won't have any
