I really like to use rox filer, but the only utf8 character capability
is really a problem for the french accents.
All my applications (gtk2 too) are using iso-8859-1 encoding. Just rox
creates files and folders in UTF8 encoding.
I've read the faq , and try 'CHARSET=iso-8859-1 rox -n', 'export
CHARSET=iso-8859-1 & rox -n' but always this bugly utf8 :P :(
I've also tried to use a complete utf8 system via locale, but that
makes a couple of problems in several applications.
Please help me to have a rox in iso-8859 simply, just that. It's
perfect for all, but creating files and folders without accents is a
big problem for me
Thanx a lot

While I understand your frustration (**), and do hope that you find a
solution to go back to work ASAP, I must ask: have you considered also
contacting the developers of the other apps you use, to ask when
*they* will go UTF-8?
We really need one only, worldwide valid character encoding. The
sooner UTF-8 is adopted, and the other ways are discarded, the
(**) and share it, being italian...
