I've put up some instructions for using ROX with Fedora Core 1 here: http://rox.sourceforge.net/phpwiki/index.php/FedoraCore This takes you from a fresh install of the distribution to having all the ROX apps available and working (including the new Python D-BUS stuff). It seems to work on my test laptop, but it's possible that it relies on something I did while getting it all working. Could someone using this distro please test it? You'll need a network connection to the machine to follow the instructions. If you have to perform any additional steps, please note them down and tell us! -- Thomas Leonard http://rox.sourceforge.net tal00r at ecs.soton.ac.uk tal197 at users.sourceforge.net GPG: 9242 9807 C985 3C07 44A6 8B9A AE07 8280 59A5 3CC1 |

It should also have an explicit dependancy on the 2.4.22-1.2115 kernel (I think). I could probably provide new module rpms every time i upgrade (Usually every 2-3 kernel releases). I will also look at packaging the python dbus files. That is, after i've finished my school work :-P Ideally, you could provide an apt/yum repository on zero-install.sf.net so people can go: yum install zero-install or apt-get install zero-install and it will handle everything :-) Regards,=20 Alastair >=20 > This takes you from a fresh install of the distribution to having all the > ROX apps available and working (including the new Python D-BUS stuff). Do you want to take over maintaining the SRPMs too? I don't have constant access to the fedora machine, so updates will be slow. I think the requires and build-requires fields could do with some filling in... > Ideally, you could provide an apt/yum repository on zero-install.sf.net > so people can go: > yum install zero-install or > apt-get install zero-install We've got an APT repository already. Anyone want to do one for yum? -- Thomas Leonard http://rox.sourceforge.net tal00r at ecs.soton.ac.uk tal197 at users.sourceforge.net GPG: 9242 9807 C985 3C07 44A6 8B9A AE07 8280 59A5 3CC1 |

I notice Fedora Core 2 test 3 has just come out... I assume that will need different RPMs... I will be able to provide kernel 2.6 RPMS (I'll be moving to FC2 when it comes out) But everyone else should be able to compile the src rpm and it will create a binary for their current kernel Alastair --=20 (o< - A l a s t a i r P o r t e r //\ =20 V_/_ ala...@li... |
