I know there is such an option but I never ever changed it. After the
bug occurs, changing it to "emacs mode" or back to the original value
has no effect.

Yes, I can select text by dragging without problems. However, pressing
Ctrl+A only moves the cursor to the end of line, except when it's
already on the end - then it's moved to the beginning. In any case,
nothing is actually selected. Even Ctrl + Alt + Backspace and
restarting X does not fix this problem. neither does logout/login.
Only reboot helps... Then, everything is fine for a few hours, before
the problem occurs again. It's probably tied to running SOMETHING on
my computer but I have no ide what...

It's controlled by the GTK keytheme. The Keyboard config applet lets you
change it (under 'Text editing') if you're using ROX-Session.

However, it should still only move to the beginning in emacs mode, not
jump back and forth. Can you select any text at all (eg, by dragging the
mouse)? Sometimes, I've seen GTK get confused and not let you select
anything (as soon as you release the mouse button, it unselects).
That might be why the cursor moves to the end when you try to select
all.

[rox-users] PyTraffic-2.0 for ROX

I tried it, liked it a lot, so I repackaged it as a self-compiling ROX-AppDir.
Needs PyGame for sound, but launches without PyGame and can be played.
