Do you mean a commandline applet into which you can type commands, or a
whole full-featured curses-capable terminal with font so small you
can't read it?
I actually don't know if there is an applet for either one, or if
it's even possible (I heard some complaint here not long ago with
having applets not properly accept keyboard inputs?) but here's how I
do the equivalent things:
- To type single commands, I have fluxbox binding the <WIN+R> to
- For an actual terminal I have fluxbox binding the <WIN+T> to
run 'urxvt' (substitute your favourite terminal)
If your window manager doesn't do useful things like arbitrary
keybindings, there's an app called 'xbindkeys' that does.
I'm sure you could create a quick launcher in the panel for either of
these, but the mouse movement required to go down and click on them
is a lot slower than a keystroke if it's something you do often.
