Next I looked at how to use gtk - it seems that DUI, became Duit which is becoming GtkD will be the gtk bindings. DUI is usable now, but GtkD is still considered unusable. It looks like it will be pretty nice to use though. Check out this sample code: http://svn.dsource.org/projects/dui/trunk/demos/gtk/OtherTests.d |

Indeed, this is super-easy to install! I've put up a Zero Install feed here: http://0install.net/2006/3rd-party/GDC.xml E.g.: $ 0alias gdc http://0install.net/2006/3rd-party/GDC.xml will get you a D compiler to play with. > Next I looked at how to use gtk - it seems that DUI, became Duit which > is becoming GtkD will be the gtk bindings. DUI is usable now, Not for me. It fails to parse because 'cent' is now a (stupidly named) keyword (128-bit integer). Guess we'll have to wait for GtkD to actually make a release... -- Dr Thomas Leonard http://rox.sourceforge.net GPG: 9242 9807 C985 3C07 44A6 8B9A AE07 8280 59A5 3CC1 |

I think the biggest problem would be that the default startup script for beryl, at least in my distro, runs beryl as a background process, not as foreground. This just makes it harder for rox-session to know when the WM is shut down, I suppose. I'm just in the process of upgrading *everything* and when it's done I'll spend some time getting rox-session to work with beryl, as I think this is one case where rox-session would be EXACTLY what I need. By the way, is it reasonably easy to tell rox-session to logout from a command prompt (or keybinding from my WM?) Is it just a matter of running the appdir? --=20 Jim Ramsay "Me fail English?
