What about using some sort of transparency to indicate
the type of drag that is taking place.  So a normal
copy drag, which is creating a copy or 'ghost' of a
file, is shown with a transparent drag.

Then a shift drag, which moves a file, uses a solid
drag, to indicate that the original file is being
moved rather than a 'ghost' copy.  The icon of the
original file in the filer window disappears during
the drag, so that it is visibly moved.

Well did anyone see that ROX was featured in the Linux
section of the Dave Central archive
(www.davecentral.com) ?  This may account for some of
the interest.
